How we handle your data
PRIVACY POLICY.
A public leaderboard needs very little about you — and we ask for even less than that. Here is exactly what is collected, what is published, and what we never touch.
Last updated 22 August 2026
The short version
CaptainBid is a public leaderboard. Everything you submit for a listing — your link or handle, and the amount you bid — is meant to be published. There is no account to create and no profile to fill in.
We do not sell your data, and we do not run advertising trackers.
What we collect
Only what the board needs to work:
- The URL or @handle you submit, plus the title, description and icon we read from that page's public metadata.
- Your bid amount and the time it was placed.
- A payment reference returned by our payment provider, so a payment can be matched to a listing.
- A random browser identifier stored in your browser, used to count how many people are currently on the site.
- Counts of clicks on leaderboard entries, stored as totals rather than as a record of individuals.
What we never see
Card numbers, UPI IDs, bank details and net-banking credentials are entered on the payment provider's own checkout, not on this site. They never reach our servers and we cannot store them.
Payments
Payments are processed by Dodo Payments, which acts as the merchant of record. They handle your payment details under their own privacy policy and share only a payment status and reference back to us.
Dodo Payments may collect information such as your name, email address, billing address and payment instrument in order to complete the transaction and meet tax obligations. Please read their privacy policy for how they handle it.
What is public
Your listing is public by design: the link or handle, its title, description and icon, the bid amount, its rank, and the number of clicks it has received. Placing a bid is a request to publish exactly that.
Your name, email address and payment details are never published.
Cookies and storage
We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. The site stores one random identifier in your browser's local storage so the "N aboard" counter does not count the same visitor repeatedly. Clearing your browser storage removes it.
How long we keep things
Listings and their bid history remain for as long as the board exists — that record is the product. Presence identifiers are discarded after a day of inactivity, and click timestamps after 48 hours.
Your choices
You can ask us to remove a listing you paid for, and we will take it off the board. Because a bid buys the time your listing was ranked, removal does not create a refund — see the Refunds policy.
You can also ask what we hold about a listing, or ask us to correct it. Write to vinay.veo3@gmail.com.
Children
CaptainBid is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes and contact
If this policy changes we will update the date at the top of this page. Questions about privacy go to vinay.veo3@gmail.com.
